"Wivo" — Chevening Scholar, Barrister & Legal Innovator
Mohamed Wurie Bah, fondly known as Wivo, is a Chevening Scholar who graduated with an LLM in Innovation, Technology and the Law from the University of Edinburgh with Distinction. With a background in law and a passion for technology, Wivo is on a mission to bridge the gap between complex legal concepts and real-world impact, especially across Africa.
A natural conversationalist and connector, he uses his platform to bring together thought leaders, changemakers, and everyday heroes to unpack issues that shape our world, from data protection battles against Big Tech to navigating Africa's AI policy regimes.
Before moving to Scotland, Wivo was deeply involved in legal advocacy, tech law research, and community development projects in Sierra Leone. A Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone, Wivo is qualified to practice law and has represented tech companies and media institutions both in Court and at the Independent Media Commission Tribunal. His blend of legal expertise, curiosity, and people-centred storytelling makes him a relatable and inspiring guide for his audience.
A graduate of Fourah Bay College and former President of the Law Society, Wivo combines deep legal knowledge with technical expertise to lead the digital transformation of the legal sector across Africa.
